“Pleasure was pain there, and vice versa. And he knew it well enough to call it home.“
– Clive Barker –
I hope you’ve all been doing as well as can be out there. To say that the last few months have been chaotic is an understatement, inadequate in addressing the scope of mendacities & ineptitude that have seeped into the fabric of the American tapestry like oil on a driveway or blood on fresh linen.
No one I know has been left unharmed or untouched by the sloppy grip strangling our nation. I’ve felt the brunt since week one & have had to make some difficult decisions regarding my livelihood. Rather than try to endure, I’ve chosen to move on & that has afforded me some sense of peace. I’m on the market for work now & am looking ahead to what comes next.
I think what’s come to the forefront during these crazy days is how important it is to take care of oneself. My mental health has been suffering as every workweek brings a fresh wave of uncertainty & weirdness. I’m sick of it, I need to go, I’m ready.
What lies ahead, I can’t say, but I know that I have people standing beside me & that has made the hard decisions easier to make.
I hope to be making more content soon, visually. It’s been a while since I created portraits & that itch is getting ready to be scratched.
I hope you’re keeping safe, stepping up, speaking out, and pushing back. Efforts are working but we’ve got to keep it up until the foundations are unmoored enough to topple this shoddy pantheon of tin gawds. Keep your head up & keep carrying the fire. Take care of yourself & those you cherish now and every moment.
Don’t give up hope.
Yours In Leather,
SIR Aaron Wolf
