– I –
Does your Dominance – either what you practice or what you strive for – have a label? Do you view your preferred Dominant style as Taken in Hand, Domestic Discipline, Top/bottom, Dominant/submissive, Master/slave, Owner/pet, or some other description or combination? If you do not use a label, why?
I always tend to roll my eyes whenever I hear someone say, “My <Insert noun here> doesn’t need a label.” While that might be true (for them), a label helps those who aren’t in the know get a fucking clue about whatever the hell you’re talking about. As irritating as it is, things need labels even if it’s a rudimentary one. “Chicken in a can” is a better description than a generic drawing of a chicken on a can without words, after all. Labels are necessary for us to connect with someone or something and Dominance is no different.
My Dominance varies based on the dynamic. I am a SIR, a Daddy, a Handler, and a developing Master. All these roles, I believe, exist underneath the umbrella of Dominant.
I don’t have a preferred style of Dominance because of the various dynamics I’m involved. As a Handler, I guide my Pup different than, say, my boy-in-training as his Master. The Daddy and SIR also operate differently though both nurture utilizing different ways.
However, if you were to put the thumbscrews to me, I’d likely smile and sneer in defiance before telling you that SIR is the prevailing style. As SIR, I walk taller, feel sexier, and assume the role and responsibilities with sardonic seriousness. I don’t take myself too seriously but I do take what it means to be SIR as such.
Check out my Becoming SIR series for more insight.
Yours In Leather,
SIR Aaron Wolf
