“You always say that you’re sorry
When you make a mistake
You tell me that you’ve learned a good lesson
And promise that you’re gonna change your ways“I find that I keep telling you
That what you say & what you do
Ain’t no surprise, ain’t nothing new
The story is always the same
You’re the only that your lying is hurting
And it’s such a shame…”– Colton Ford –
Ya’at’ééh,
The last couple of weeks since the BLUF San Francisco (BLUFSF) dinner have been about recovery & resetting. I’ve delved back into writing & am finally feeling like I’m back to something close to stasis.
Of course, it hasn’t all been puppies & rainbows or, in my case, throat-punches & rough kisses. I’ve had to reassess dynamics & economize where my energy can be best utilized. This means letting things go & working to enhance more promising prospects rather than parlaying in uncertainty. Hard lessons learned but sometimes those are exactly what’s needed. Essentially, if I’m not needed, I’m moving forward. I’m not giving up, I’m letting go.
Aside from that, I am in the middle of writing about my recovery journey; it’s taking some time & perhaps that’s a good thing. I want to tell you how I got here, what it took to get here truthfully, comprehensively & cohesively. It’s not been easy writing about the last days of my dirty disco life. The good thing is I’m far enough away from those dark days to be able to share without falling iinto the dark.
Stay true to yourself, know your worth. Strive for authenticity, eschew unnecessary theatrics. Embrace your levels of experience, strive to keep learning & growing but know when to step back to view the bigger picture. Allow yourself to be taught & learn the hell out it.
I’ll be in SF this weekend for BLUFSF HARD; stop by & say hello this Friday.
Yours In Leather
SIR Aaron Wolf
