The start of a Journey begins somewhere; IAmSirAaron.com kicks off with an introduction into who I am and where I see us going together.

I think every beginning is humble. We come from the union of flesh and fluid to become a growing collection of cells. Copulation, conception, gestation, birth, baby, toddler, pre-teen, teenager, young adult, and so on. We tumble and navigate countless choices that alter the trajectory of the narrative. Happiness, heartache, love, loss, falls, and victories, the story is enriched with myriad detail. When we become more aware of the world, pain and pleasure come into the mix. Within that part of the recipe come flavors to explore: fetishes and fears, desire and disillusion, limits and enlightenment into the Human Condition, into our very Humanity. From there, it’s a choice to either keep moving forward, stay in place, or withdraw altogether. Though there are billions of souls on the planet, each starts with the basic journey of formation and exploration.

My journeys, my Leather and Kink Journeys, started quite some time ago; however, I am getting ahead of myself a little bit.

I am Sir Aaron, I’m a practicing Dom operating in Northern California. I am most active in San Francisco and Sacramento and consider myself a sensual Sadist. I’m a truly versatile Top with more kinks than a garden hose kept folded away in storage for the winter. I’m a proud Leatherman who tries to wear Leather every day even when I’m working from home. I’m in recovery and enjoy a good cup of strong coffee, cigars, and most things cherry.

That out of the way, let’s get back in it.

I can’t accurately pinpoint when I started my Leather Journey. Honestly, it could’ve started as far back as high school. I was a Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Commander for my school Marine Corps JROTC unit. It was then that I grew an appreciation for uniforms and boots. I took to uniform care like a duck to water and would spend evenings with a pair of all-Leather combat boots spit-shining with nothing but cotton balls, a tin of black Kiwi polish, and some water. The smell of boot polish and the smell of Leather stayed with me though I didn’t know exactly why they appealed to me so much. To paraphrase that old Maybelline ad campaign, maybe he’s born with it.

As for my Kink Journey, I think I can determine where it came from specifically impact play. I’ll be dating myself but that’s neither here nor there but I believe it came from playing Castlevania on the first Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and the subsequent Super NES. In its earliest incarnations, Castlevania was a side-scrolling adventure, the protagonist a member of the Belmont Family that specialized in killing vampires and monsters. The Belmont Family’s weapon of choice was, of all things, a whip. Castlevania had all a boy could ask for, at least this boy: vampires, muscled whip-wielding heroes, Medusa, castles, and callbacks to horror tropes since the beginning of time. So fascinated was I with the whip that I would spend time with a length of rope practicing my own whip work, adrift in my own world of crumbling castles, glaring Gorgons, and harrowing heroics.

You see, inspiration comes from infinite and sometimes unexpected sources; how one chooses to inform one’s life choices with that inspiration is vastly subjective. My boot-shining beginnings helped me when I joined the military, the military helped me develop leadership skills, my leadership skills transformed into a lifestyle of Dominance. Video games inspired me to pick up something that would later become a flogger, a paddle, a cane, and a single-tail. We carry within us echoes of tales we told ourselves over time and we pluck those echoes from the cacophony to craft new songs, taking gifts from our Muses.

It’s my hope that you will find something within the content of my site wherever you come from as a Leatherperson, a Kinkster, a Dom/sub, a person. My Journey is one of several and I would be honored to have you along with me. I cannot guarantee easy reads. In fact, I have no guarantees at all.
